"oh boo" moments 1501, 1502, and 1503

while they're fresh in my mind.

yesterday, after church, i told nancpop to put his wallet in his truck - he grabbed it and threw it back in the console, stating, "i'll get it before i go to work tomorrow."

apparently, "telling" was the key word - i should have begged and pleaded, perhaps shedding a tear or four - because this morning while taking the children to the busstop - what should be STILL sitting in the console? yup.

i just called him and asked, "what's in your wallet?"

oh boo...

evan had "all region" band tryouts this weekend and didn't make it, but not to worry - there were 204 middle through high school kids vying for the coveted seats. three of those who made it were from our school district.

while performing for the judges, evan asked another bandie to keep an eye on her purse - no problem, but when she returned, this bandie was text messaging who knows who on HER cellphone! she was a little angry to say the least.

upon hearing this, nancson said, "that'll teach you, evan - i only allow people i trust to keep an eye on MY purse!" (i hope he meant cellphone...)

oh boo...

when i got back to the house and went to get the key to unlock the door - it was not in its designated spot. there was NO key in the second designated spot!

i was forced to remove a screen and tumble into an unlocked window - it was a gymnastics move that would have made olga korbutz proud! i'm not as spry as back in the day - as evan so handily points out to me daily...

oh boo...

don't worry your purty selves over me...i...i...i'll be okay...it's only eight hours before someone comes home and finds me...

please see warren's most excellent article regarding cyber stalkers and general moonbattery tackytics below this.

4 years ago I had to take my late to the emergency roo, another couple came over and took our 2 home with them, they also had a swimming pool, major job(right)!
Well, we get back about 1 am, I had changed purses that day, guess what I forgot? Guess what my late didn't take? Yep!
The only window that was unlocked was my son's, you know the one, with 3 natal plums with the very large, y'd, woody thorns? My late found a chair for me to stand on while climbing over these overgrown monstrosities, as I fell into my son's bed, our very large dog watched from the doorway, wagging his tail and wondering why we didn't come in the regular way! We laughed so hard...it was not a graceful landing, thank G*D for the bed!

i'm lmao!

tmw - when i was put to bed rest with evan after my surgery, i stepped out onto the porch to get the paper and 13 month old nancson shut the door and it locked - so i ran around to the backside of the house to come in the backdoor, but he beat me to it and shut it too - there was a window on the door; and i was knocking and saying, "son, open the door, please." with every knock and plea - his little face was looking up at me saying, "endybody home?"

needless to say, i found an unlocked window and tumbled in onto the hardwood floor at his feet. i scooped him up and laughed myself sillier...it wasn't long after i had to return for my second cerclage.

apparently, bed rest means exactly that...oh boo...

Bwahahahahaha!!!
Mothers will be Mothers, we have too much to do to stay in bed!
Dear Lord, HE protected you and babyEvan, there must have been much rolling of the eyes on HIS part!
The natal plums have thorns up to 2 inches long, and then they "y" and each "y" grows 2 more.:shudder: I;ll tell you sometime why they were under his window!

nanc said...

if they're the thorns i'm thinking of, or even close - when our kids were younger, they used to like to drill holes into dowels or old broomsticks and hot glue these into the ends for when they'd go hiking - yikes! what kids won't think of...

The Merry Widow said...

Look up Carissa macrocarpa, Calphotos has some good shots, one of the thorns!

Heh!

Here at Casa Beamish, the little lady is compulsively obsessed (or is that obsessively compulsed?) about having all the doors on the house locked, even if everyone is home. "We have [some outrageous dollar amount] worth of guitars, computers, and music studio equipment here!"

The funny thing is the back door from the kitchen to the back porch / smoking lounge that must be locked at all times has a nice glass frame window in the top half with kitcheny curtains hanging on it.

One day I'm going to shatter that window and reach inside and unlock the door, just to make a point.

beamish - you sound EXACTLY like my husband, who says, "you realize a locked door is a broken window?"

i'm surrounded by wiseguys...

I made my hubby break into our house just a few days ago, as in the process of loading the kids into the car, we both assumed the other had the keys to the car/house.

Of corse, I locked the door on my way out.

My hubby's such a good burglar. Not even a scratch on the door...>:D

Well I for one am glad you didn't break your neck. Hope at the very least there was a chilled bottle of wine to help pass the time ;-)

I think I hear the theme to the young and the restless..

Well, there is a big ol' spoiled dog here to watch the burglars carry out the television.

nanc said...

well i hope you haven't taught him how to fetch beers from the fridge...

Years ago, I got locked out here--in a full two feet of snow--when I went out to get the morning paper; my husband had already left for work (This was in those halcyon days when he got up before I did). I was forced to trudge down the street in my nightgown and fuzzy slippers to a neighbor's house to call my husband to come home from work so that I could get back into the house and go to work.

Where was the spare key? My husband had used it some time before and had it in his pocket.

I won't go into how many times I've locked the car with my purse inside--the spare key for the car being in my purse, of course.

I hope that I don't get more forgetful as I get older, or I'll be locked out everywhere.

I believe that was the music Olga used.
