logical? you tell me

for the umpteenth time in the last month, i've read articles pertaining to some grand mullah, or some other lowly muzzie talking head, calling for muslims to leave the u.s. as they are about to attack us AGAIN.

two things that do not compute:

why aren't they getting the hell out?

why would they want to nuke a country, thus making it uninhabitable, they plan to take over?

if they would ONLY start leaving in droves, perhaps then i would take them seriously.

Hi Nanc! You people are giving ducky way to much credit... Cubic Zirconians? Marbles? LOL! Jello is more like it.

The Mullahs have this grand plan. It is to lie to us consistantly with false threats so that we become complacent and listen to nothing that they say. Then, when they are really serious, we will ignore them and "bammo!" They are not as stupid as we give them credit for.

nanc said...

gayle - i'll never go to sleep where islam is concerned - i do, however feel our leftist bedpartners are going to be a hindrance when the time comes to buck up.

The Merry Widow said...

Well Nanc, if they get in the way of our guns, in one of their "flower child" throwing themselves in front of us...we'll just have to shoot through the soft tissue to kill the terrorists! 2 birds with one bullet.

And I will agree on that! I told MadZ that after this baby, I was praying that MamaZ has a yearning for Israel. This country is rapidly going to a place G*D can't bless. I've already told Beaker that his not getting the government job may be a blessing in disguise. And he might want to think of making aliyah as well! Jingoist is next!

Too many people become tied up in knots over "sins of commision" and totally ignore their much greater "sins of omission".

In this world of moral relitivism, mad dogs are to be treated the same as healty dogs, ignoring the destruction that mad dogs commit.

Hi elbro. Pardon my ignorance, but what is a storm door? Have not heard the term used here in Oz before.

nanc said...

kathy - you need to go a few posts down to the 10,000 visitor post to get the full gist of the storm door incident - and to elbro's site to get HIS take on the situation.

unless you have experienced tornados - you'd really have no need for a storm door - elbro thinks i owe him one and i told him to come and get it!

I just read through this entire comment thread, believe it or not! LOL! I've got to go visit the Merry Widow. She's a trip!

"What is a 'storm door'? You must not be a country girl. It's a screen door with glass on it in case of a storm. It keeps the rain off of the front porch. They are also used on houses without front porches, but I don't know why. :)

Gayle said...

Well, I tried to visit the Merry Widow but I can't comment it seems, because I'm not a team member. Shame! I think I would have enjoyed getting to know her.

Anonymous said...

Heh Heh Heh Nanc.
Can't tell you what's happening in Arkansas .

But I can tell you what Iam up to today in Oz. Right now it's 7.29 am in Perth(west australia) and I am about to get the kid's breakfast , then it's off to school for them and grocery shoppin' for me(boring!) Want to swap Nanc?

Actually sharin' a case of Fosters with you in the "Outback" is real appealing mate! We'd have a bonza time I reckon!

Oh.. and Gayle . You are right I'm not a country girl(Oh how I wish I was though) Thing is we don't really get tornadoes down here.
We sometimes get what we call Willy Willys. (Miniature tornadoes ) But they are relatively harmless, and just kick up the dust and whirl a few plants and bottletops around.

Guess we have no need for storm doors here then.

Ciao for now Nanc... I hear the tin lids a callin'

Hi Kathy. Don't trutst nanc she has a nice personality and a nice sense of humor.

Sir Warren is a gentlemen, except when it comes to door prizes.

nanc said...

AND, why do you not play bari anymore?

elmers brother said...

Because I learned the guitar and now I am attempting the fiddle. I started out on the alto sax, played the bari for jazz band and then went back to the alto. Bari was fun in marching band. It was bigger than I was at the time.

nanc said...

the fiddle? that is so awesome!

our son purchased a violin this summer - a couple of weeks before it arrived he bought a beginner's book - the day finally came when we picked it up - by the end of that day, he could play EVERY tune in the book - this kid is so into music. two things every child should have and in this order:

1. G-d

2. music

elmers brother said...

Oh I agree. My oldest daughter is studying music in college (piano) and the two younger ones are learning the electric guitar.

elmers brother said...

My oldest will hear a song for the first time, sit at the piano, plunk a few notes and the next thing you know she is playing it. She makes me sick.

frankly, i don't know why warren hasn't begged tmw to join longrange - other than the fact that would put him inside the circle of foxy homeless bloggers...jeesh, warren...what's wrong with you?

Warren said...

Nanc, I don't know "what's wrong with me".

Just the other day, ol Short Fuse, said; "Warren, what's wrong with you!", I was practicing on my guitar so I asked her to hum a few bars and she got all irate.

Then she said I should be ashamed. I told her "I am but can you be more specific?"

POW, now my ears are ringing and she expects me to clean the gun!

nanc said...

kathy - "bandies" are kids in the school band - i usually call them geeks - yes, to their faces!

elmers brother said...

nanc - I know the term music comes from a greek word or something meaning math. Music is a bunch of patterns and if you can understand a few of them then music does become easier. e.g. the difference between a major and a minor scale is the 3rd not in the major scale is dropped down a third and the half step interval goes from the 3rd and 4th to the 2nd and 3rd and the 5th and 6th. Might sound confusing but once you learn a major scale pattern you can figure out any scale in a matter of seconds.

Children are cool. I love being a dad. Being an INTENTIONAL father is a little more difficult. I travel a bit for my work so I have to work a little harder at it. My kids are who I am not my vocation. A lot of men get wrapped up in their job and forget that it's a means not an end.

The Merry Widow said...

EB- In spite of it all, you have you're priorities are in order! Being the high priest of your home runs counter to Adam's sin!
Good on you!

tmw

elmers brother said...

I'm tired the 3rd is dropped a half step in a minor scale duh

2 and 3 and 5 and 6

A man was walking home alone late one foggy night,
when behind him he hears:
BUMP.................

BUMP.........

BUMP....

Walking faster, he looks back and through the fog he makes out the image of an upright casket banging its way down the middle of the street toward him.

BUMP.........

BUMP.....

BUMP...

Terrified, the man begins to run toward his home, the casket bouncing quickly behind him.

FASTER.......

FASTER.....

BUMP.....

BUMP....

BUMP...

He runs up to his door, fumbles with his keys, opens the door, rushes in, slams and locks the door behind him.

However, the casket crashes through his door, with the lid of the casket clapping

Clappity-BUMP........

clappity-BUMP......

clappity-BUMP...

on his heels, the terrified man runs.

Rushing upstairs to the bathroom, the man locks himself in. His heart is pounding;
his head is reeling;
his breath is coming in sobbing gasps.......

With a loud CRASH the casket breaks down the door.

Bumping and clapping toward him......
The man SCREAMS and reaches for something, anything,
but all he can find is a bottle of cough syrup!

Desperate, he throws the cough syrup at the casket...
and...
.....
(hopefully you're ready for this!!!)
...

The coffin stops!
