Most people do not have a clue what leadership is.
Its the ability to inspire, the strength of character to take charge and the willingness to accept the consequences of your actions when you are wrong.
For a glimpse into real leadership, and a great story, read this post by Michael Yon.

when the moment is right, we must take it - crissman just knew - can you imagine the ease with which he reached into hamid's holster and removed his gun?
LET THEM DO THEIR JOBS!
Amen to that!
Our troops are intelligent and savvy, let them off the leash!
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!
tmw
That was a long read but well worth the time. I read Michael Yon often, but hadn't seen that one yet. Thanks, Nanc.
Yes, let our soldiers do their jobs!
although i'd like to take credit, this is warren's post, gayle. why, is he starting to sound like me?
What TMW said!!!
this has in the past been the reason our enemies feared us...local commanders all the way down to the lowly private could make decisions like this without having to go to higher ups...then pc entered in....hopefully this trend will continue...one way to win is to make them fear us
hence the old military adage
it's easier to ask for forgiveness then permission
Most leftists have no idea what leadership is. The rest are just opportunists and cut-throats. Same can be said of most conservatives also. A true leader (to me) is one who is willing to lead by example and serve. You lead by actions not words--and almost every politician I know of is a total failure at LEADERSHIP.
Too much emphasis on hardware, that's our problem SIGINT vs HUMINT. It's hard to learn to trust a sensor. And there are too many places where sensors can't go.
silly question time:
Does anyone think a great story like this could be found in the NYT or any MSM device?
you can stop laughing now
h!
dang, obob - you're killin' me - you're really killin' me!
I'll save some ribs for Grandma nanc
make mine with some "not for sissies" hot bbq sauce, please.
is this another food post?
Don't let beamish near the sauce.
Comandante, are you saying that Beamish should leave the sauce alone?
LOL!
Well...
I just remember a recipe he shared w/us a couple weeks back that was so hot you'd need an aerial water tanker to dowse the fire with after eating.
But now that you mention it, based upon his waking up in another state not knowing where he left his car story... maybe we shouldn't let him near that sauce either... unless he promises to take us with him. ;-)
Viva la Republica Americana!
Hmmm, I don't think I was supposed to say that.... Oh well.
Of course, this story won't appear in the msm. It shows just how wonderful our troops are.
Good find, Warren!
Outstanding link! THanks!!!!!!
great find guys and dolls!..thanks for the uplift Nanc!
okay - one more time - this is warren's post, not mine. i'm nanc - warren (although as much as he'd like to be nanc) is warren.
BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA!
Or I could change the name of the blog to !
watch you back warren... there's a pyscho on the prowl that is looking for man on man sex.
yes - i noticed his intense desire for warren's response.
he really should get some help - i tried, but he closed his comments - you should have seen the stuff he was spewing on his own blog!
that's no way to up your numbers...
Cut your leftover Memorial Day steaks into strips, heat 'em up, and put them on a green salad with KC Masterpiece Original BBQ sauce and some French's honey mustard.
You'll thank me later.
What, you don't have leftover steaks from Memorial Day a week ago?
You didn't cook enough.
