The sky is falling, we're all going to die! (women and children hardest hit)

Al Gore testified before a House committee on "global warming". Fox News reports:

"The planet has a fever. If your baby has a fever, you go to the doctor. If the doctor says you need to intervene here, you don't say, 'well, I read a science fiction novel that tells me it's not a problem,' " Gore said. "If the crib's on fire, you don't speculate that the baby is flame retardant. You take action."

Scott Jacobson, (a wsj reader), questions Gore's premise:
Overreacting is common among parents. I remember one morning when my first child was still an infant. Imagine my horror when I discovered that her temperature had risen to 99.5 degrees, almost a whole degree in just under 12 hours. Naturally, I immediately sat down and built a computer model, which clearly projected that by age 30, her temperature was going to be a staggering 19,710 degrees!

Thankfully, with the help of a patient wife and an impatient pediatrician, I came to realize that these fluctuations were normal, and that my baby daughter would not be going supernova by the time she reached her golden years.

Kelly Murphy, (another wsj reader), puts things in perspective nicely:

So let me see if I have this right. According to Al Gore, I would have to be an idiot to decide, after reading "a science-fiction novel" (he must be referring to "State of Fear") that it's OK to go about living my life in a normal fashion. Instead, I should see one science-fiction movie (his) and run screaming out of the theater prepared to change every aspect of my life to avoid certain destruction.

Ive been doing my part!

"Putin media decree arouses press freedom worries
Thu Mar 15 2007 11:37:07 ET

President Vladimir Putin has decreed the creation of a new super-agency to regulate media and the Internet, sparking fears among Russian journalists of a bid to extend tight publishing controls to the relatively free Web.

Putin signed a decree to create one entity that will license broadcasters, newspapers and Web sites and oversee their editorial content.

Raf Shakirov, who was dismissed as editor of the Izvestiya daily after critical coverage of the 2004 Beslan school siege, tells REUTERS how Putin's decree could extend Soviet-style controls to Russia's online media, which have been relatively free to date.

"This is an attempt to put everything under control, not only electronic media, but also personal data about people such as bloggers," he said."

there is something about this man i've never trusted, be it the close set eyes, or lack of any sort of emotion - he's not right. and just what is he so paranoid about that he'd pick on lil' old bloggers?

The Great Global Warming Swindle

Here, is the definitive documentary on the "Global Warming" scam that is being perpetrated on ignorant people the world over.

Presented by BBC4, shown in its entirety, some hour and thirteen minutes long, its well worth watching.

I did, and I advise everyone to watch it and pay attention.

Pelosi gets the raspberry

Yesterday, Senator Joe Lieberman, and House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, both gave speaches before the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) National Policy Conference.

In part, Senator Lieberman said,
"There is something profoundly wrong when there is so much distrust of our intelligence community that some Americans doubt the plain and ominous facts about the threat to us posed by Iran.

And there is something profoundly wrong when, in the face of attacks by radical Islam, we think we can find safety and stability by pulling back, by talking to and accommodating our enemies, and abandoning our friends and allies.

Some of this wrong-headed thinking about the world is happening because we're in a political climate where, for many people, when George Bush says "yes," their reflex reaction is to say "no."

That is unacceptable."

Pelosi said the U.S. military campaign in Iraq had to be judged on three accounts: whether it makes the U.S. safer, the U.S. military stronger and the region more stable.

“The war in Iraq fails on all three counts”.
Some of the crowd applauded before catcalls and boos could be heard. A spokesman for AIPAC argued the boos were in response to those clapping for Pelosi.

The boos, mixed with some polite applause, stood in stark contrast to the reception House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) received minutes earlier when he said the U.S. had no choice but to win in Iraq and to the applause which greeted Senator Liberman's speech.

The Democrats are finding it much harder to govern than the cake walk they imagined. Signs of stress are starting to show and for all the talk of Pelosi's "first hundred hours", no meaningful legislation has been enacted nor is it likely to be.

The Liberals/Progressives, (whatever they are calling their selves this week), are starting to melt down and resort to eating their own.

How long until everyone gets tired of Chuckie Shumer and his investigation du Jour.
I mean, this is exactly what he promised while his head was still swelled from the big Democrat win and his tongue was wagging loose from the drunkenness of victory and his dreams of power.

Chuckie wants to hear what Karl Rove has to say about 8 Federal Prosecutors that were given the axe and thinks that Attorney General, Alberto Gonzalez should resign! (but of course, Chuckie thinks that all Republican office holders should resign). Federal Prosecutors are hired by the President and serve at his pleasure. They may be fired at any time for any reason. Bill Clinton had Janet Reno fire "ALL" the federal prosecutors when he took office. I don't remember so much as an eyebrow being raised.

I wish this administration would grow a set and tell these panty waisted bunch to F*^% off!

WHEN PIGS FLY!

much of the world in general needs to get a clue about is-lam.

no thank you just isn't working to our benefit anymore.

'scuse me, but it seems our very own religious left is selling u.s. out. i'm sick to death of people who will sell our great nation out in the name of our Lord!

quite frankly, i do not believe for one nanosecond Yeshua would put up with this swindle. take a back door to the non-prophet pedophile? someone has access to some serious drugs they've not started sharing.

one would have to be under the influence to stand for a moment of what appears to be coming upon u.s.

MUS-LIM = GOOD AMERICAN?

while perusing the merry widow blog this morning on her rick warren, purported drivel lies, post, i came across this most interesting statement within the link at moriel ministries:

"Can A Muslim Be A Good American?

Food for thought. Interesting questions for the Muslim Community to discuss.

Research for the rest of us.

Can a good Muslim be a good American?

I forwarded that question to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.

The following is his forwarded reply:

Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon God of Arabia.

Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)

Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).

Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

Politically - no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and Destruction of America, the great Satan.

Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).

Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot coexist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names.

Therefore after much study and deliberation....perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both "good" Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish....it's still the truth.

You had better believe it.

If you find yourself intellectually in agreement with the above statements, perhaps you will share this with your friends. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future.

The religious war is bigger than we know or understand.

So, do you feel lucky today? Vote for a Muslim or Muslim sympathizer for Congress or President, where they will have access to issues of our national security and intelligence which they can then pass on to their Imam who will then funnel it to Islamic terrorists. What good will a wall across our entire border with Mexico do when we vote them into office."

this article is chock full of great links and information - kudos to tmw for sniffing this one out!

now, if you're here to find out just who's in charge - check the post below this one.

BREAKING NEWS FROM DRUDGE (all emphasis mine)

"PETA TO AL GORE: YOU CAN’T BE A MEAT-EATING ENVIRONMENTALIST
Tue Mar 06 2007 17:08:05 ET

The Most ‘Inconvenient Truth’: According to U.N., Animals Raised for Food Generate More Greenhouse Gases Than All Cars and Trucks Combined

Norfolk, Va. — This morning, PETA sent a letter to former vice president Al Gore explaining to him that the best way to fight global warming is to go vegetarian and offering to cook him faux “fried chicken” as an introduction to meat-free meals. In its letter, PETA points out that Gore’s film, An Inconvenient Truth—which starkly outlines the potentially catastrophic effects of global warming and just won the Academy Award for “Best Documentary”—has failed to address the fact that the meat industry is the largest contributor to greenhouse-gas emissions.

In the letter, PETA points out the following:

· The effect that our meat addiction is having on the climate is truly staggering. In fact, in its recent report “Livestock’s Long Shadow—Environmental Issues and Options,” the United Nations determined that raising animals for food generates more greenhouse gases than all the cars and trucks in the world combined.

· Researchers at the University of Chicago have determined that switching to a vegan diet is more effective in countering global warming than switching from a standard American car to a Toyota Prius.

PETA also reminds Gore that his critics love to question whether he practices what he preaches and suggests that by going vegetarian, he could cut down on his contribution to global warming and silence his critics at the same time.

“The single best thing that any of us can do to for our health, for animals, and for the environment is to go vegetarian,” says PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk. “The best and easiest way for Mr. Gore to show his critics that he’s truly committed to fighting global warming is to kick his meat habit immediately.”"

i'm not so sure this isn't a very good time to have a bee-ell-tee.

tell me why else we should raise animals? with the exception of our pets? these freaky, tofu-fluffin' fairies have got a point - they're going after al! what could be better than this? well, except last week when they were going after the trappist monks in south carolina...

al, come on - PUT DOWN THE FORK!

WHO WOULD DO SUCH A THING?

it appears that for as long as eighteen months, a contractor has been filtering out some publications from our military.

"Readers of WorldNetDaily have confirmed that the filters for all U.S. Marine and U.S. Navy computers started blocking the leading independent news site at least 18 months ago, and they believe it's unlikely that it is a simple technical glitch, because the addresses www.WND.com and www.WorldNetDaily.com, which lead to the same site, were blocked at different times."

is there a good reason for this? why no mention of leftwing publications targeted for this censorship?

"Another reader, whose name also was withheld by WND, told the news site he has spent time working for Electronic Data Systems, the principal contractor running NMCI for the Navy and Marine bases.

He wrote that he realized some time ago he was unable to reach WND.

"There are many times in our network when outside issues prevent us from reaching sites. Therefore I was not overly concerned initially; but after a week or so of attempting to reach the website I determined that it must have been purposefully blocked," he said.

He noted that an admiral gave orders for Yahoo news to be unblocked about that time. "I thought it was terribly odd that Yahoo could be unblocked but not WorldNetDaily."

if this be so, there are simple ways to turn off blockers - jeeeesh. something just doesn't wash here - perhaps the experts could weigh in?
