"In the Sweet By and By"

I'm a traditionalist and love the old hymns.

My sympathy, Nanc. I've lost both my parents--Mom in 1987 and Dad in 1998. Mother's Day and Father's Day are still difficult for me, all these years later.

I lost my father three years ago. He was ready to go.

He had been in pain for several years and it was a real effort for him to walk. He had put a do not revive order in at the hospital.

I was there when he passed and you don't often get the opportunity to be with a loved one when they go.

My grandmother wanted to die in bed surrounded by her family. She was by herself, my grandfather had left to get a new oil cloth for the kitchen table and she had a stroke and died instantly.

Missing those that have passed is the worse part.

Papaw was one ofGeneral Rose's headquarters company radio men at the front lines during the 3rd Armored "Spearhead" Division's race across Western Europe against the Nazis. He probably saw more hell than can be described right here on Earth. Now he's home.

I'm sorry :-(

All I can do is send virtual hugs your way.

my thanks to all of you! i don't usually get the blues, but the last week and a half won't allow me to avoid them.

on a better note - my mom is doing wonderfully - i don't think it's hit her yet, but healthwise she's healing well.
