Murtha Calls Ethics Bill "Total Crap"
By John Bresnahan

Wednesday, Nov. 15; 1:18 pm

Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) told a group of Democratic moderates on Tuesday that an ethics and lobbying reform bill being pushed by party leaders was "total crap," but said that he would work to enact the legislation because Speaker-to-be Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) supports it.

But we already knew that!

That's one thing wrong with Washington, they believe ethics are total crap. They forget the citizens do not believe the same.

thank you, warren - are we under reconstruction?

Warren said...

The views from searches won't show up for a while, not until the search engine "web crawlers", robots, have time to find them and list them in the search engine data base.

Warren said...

"are we under reconstruction?"

No, its always been there. Since it isn't plainly visible, it helps keep trolls from nosing about.

thank you and good morning, warren.

plucky - you'd best hope our men and women will be so willing to serve under the draft your side is preparing to institute. yup - i understand these people you look up to are all for it:

"Last year, a bill (HR163) to re-
instate the military draft was introduced in Congress by New York Democrat Charles Rangel, and five
of his Democrat colleagues:

Jim McDermott of Washington
John Conyers, Jr. of Michigan
John Lewis of Georgia
Fortney "Pete" Stark of California, and
Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii."

Sometimes I think the highest extent of Ducky's economics training is from eating blotter acid printed with Thomas Nast cartoons. Not exactly moving the needle on a competency meter.

Here's some benchmarks to measure and compare the effect of Washington's recent stupidity transfusion on October 1st, 2007, when whatever budgetary policies the Democrats shape next year begin to take effect:

We've got 4.4% unemployment (aka 95.6% employment)
The Dow is over 12,000
Gasoline is roughly $2 per gallon

Perhaps in two incomes add up to $50K a year households in Milford, Massachussetts where the Man keeps Ducky down by not letting him put ramen noodles on layaway the economy is bad, but the rest of the country doesn't seem to notice.

plucky's probably upset they didn't raise the minimum wage to $20/hour at burger king - where he's head whopper.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

That's not Burger King. Ain't a damn drop of Louisiana hot sauce in the place. That's "Ground Beef Sandwich King."

Ducky's just upset because his family took up graverobbing so the kids could have hand-me-downs.

Being the head whopper has it's responsibilities...like which brown polyester pants to wear today and whether or not to take the dumpster diving leftovers to his pal Castro. That pudding is getting old...even Raoul said so.

Share the leftovers Dukkky...the People living in the workers paradise demand it.

my son will fall into the right age group at just about the right time! Lord, help u.s. all.

Warren said...

Don't worry about it Nanc.

I can't see it happening for a whole host of reasons.

Republicans won't go along because a volunter Army is a professional Army and better for the country and the military. The Democrat base would eat their politicians alive if they tried it.

Universal conscription, in the Swiss model, might be a very good thing for citizenship and our country. Especially if those that refuse to serve (not including the disabled) or didn't finish a manditory term were denied government jobs or the right to vote.

nanc said...

warren - i wouldn't mind living in a country like israel where EVERYONE is a soldier - there is always a reason to be a soldier when it's put that way. i don't know how i feel about my son or any of my nephews serving a government who hates them. demoncrats. i do have a feeling we'll all be soldiers before long, however - whether we like it or not.

Warren said...

There is nothing more honorable than being despised for doing the right thing.

The military scares the crap out of leftists anyway. They would do everything in their power to stop it.

The citizen soldier is the way to go.

nanc said...

we are already citizen soldiers.

he's my only son.

you have an only son also.

thank the Lord their hearts are in the right place whatever may come.

goodnight warren.

Warren said...

Don't fret your purdy head about it none.

I know its a mothers job to worry, heck, you should have seen mine cry! My dad told me that every time she went in my room she cried.

It ain't going to happen:

October 4, 2004
" WASHINGTON — Seeking to dispel suggestions that the war in Iraq could lead to reinstatement of the draft, House Republicans on Tuesday hastily brought the idea to a vote — with the express intent of shooting it down.

The vote, launched with only hours of notice and no public hearings, was designed to put an end to talk that President Bush’s foreign policy could overtax the all-volunteer Army that has been national policy since the end of the Vietnam War.

“It’s putting a rumor to rest,” John Feehery, a spokesman for House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.), said even before the 402-2 vote to reject the bill that would have mandated two years of military or civilian service for all men and women 18 to 26 years old.

But congressional Democrats and activists elsewhere denounced the vote as an empty exercise that trivialized what many Americans believe is a real possibility.
"

Its Charlie Wrangles scare tactic to raise public opinion agaist the war!

nanc said...

well, if that's the case - let's do it! and while we're at it, maybe the prez and v.p. can step down and give it to the buzzards waiting in the wings - let's see just what they can't do!

nanc said...

ben johnson article at fpm on this very thing today.

have a great day, warren - i'm working today.

elmers brother said...

nanc the military would never go for it either. Volunteers make much better soldieers.

nanc said...

warren and elbro - my husband and son would go if needed. of course, i would protest - they are my life and my reason for putting the sun out each morning before i awaken them...fortunately for me, my husband's too old and my son's too young.
