is there a pimpfant in your house?

there is a new brand of clothing out there for your BABIES! it's called "pimpfant" wear - yup! check out this link. then go here to check out the pimpfant wear. this guy was on fox news today and frankly, i thought he was quite matter-of-fact in his why as to his choice of a name for his infant wear. hokey at best.

answers.com defines pimp:

pimp (pĭmp)
n.
One who finds customers for a prostitute; a procurer.

intr.v., pimped, pimp·ing, pimps.
To serve as a procurer of prostitutes.

elook.org defines pimp:

[noun] someone who procures customers for whores (in England they call a pimp a ponce)
Synonyms: procurer, panderer, pander, pandar, fancy man, ponce

[verb] arrange for sexual partners for others
Synonyms: pander, procure

having worked in the criminal justice system - i also know that pimp in the prison secures a slight, blond haired, blue eyed, male for guys named "bubba".

which brings me to my points. i'm one who believes clothing makes the person.

if you work in an office, men should wear suits and women should wear dresses and/or nice pantsuits. as i've been out of the job market for awhile and have been tending to land, children and animals - tees, jeans and tennies are my mainwear, however when i go to church it's usually a dress.

a very good friend of mine for over thirty years had five children early in life and one of them was the cutest little blond/blue girl you've ever seen. i'll call her "misty". misty was a tiny thing and her mother would dress her provocatively and was perming and dying her hair by the age of seven. if you'd ask misty what she wanted to be when she grew up, she'd coyly say, "i want to be a twamp!" her mother would laugh and say, "isn't that cute?"

guess what? misty grew up to be a drug addict with three children by two different fathers and as far as i know, is still bobbing and weaving in and out of rehabs. she's been in and out of jail a number of times and no longer has custody of her children - thank God!

her mother has asked me where she could have gone wrong - i've never had the heart to tell her as she and i were estranged for a number of years for other reasons. and now she's angry with me because i told her under no circumstances to send me photos of MY sister in her coffin. she has a severe problem with honesty - giving and receiving.

questions i pose to you, the reader, is:

do your children's clothing say, "this is me!"?

do you have an overweight teenage girl in the house wearing hiphuggers and short shirts with the punchy donut roll around the waistline hanging out for all the world to see? take a photo of her and hang it on the fridge.

do you have a smartarse teenage son in the house with a cockeyed ball cap and pants you could put three of him into, and skateboard shoes that cost more than $140.00? yank his britches down in front of all his friends.

do you have a kid in the house who constantly says, "but, so and so has one and i'll just die if i don't have one tooooooooo!"? tell them to hold their breath just shy of five minutes and see what happens.

is there a kid in your house who constantly reminds you that, "so and so has this new razor flip phone and my phone is sooo outdated!"? take the phone away for awhile and give it back to them on a special occasion like h.s. graduation.

i could go on and on, but believe you get my drift - smells like gucci #3! hey, i can afford it - my kids CAN'T! GUESS WHAT? they cannot afford to dress themselves either! go figure, parents buy their kid's clothing - who has the upper hand?

if you start putting your babies in "pimpfant" wear - you are headed down a path that will not only keep you in the poorhouse, but will ultimately put you in the nuthouse! who buys the clothing for your children? are they independently wealthy? i would ask any parent to be responsible before giving in to every whim of your children.

it has been my conclusion that although i want better for my children than i had - it had NOTHING to do with material objects as i had little to nothing growing up in the way of parenting.

if you're into character building in your kids - nothing works better than a big, fat "NO"! they'll thank you for it and i'll thank you for it when i see your kids running our country with decency and in appearance. some people will say, "looks don't mean anything." i say, "liar - there is no second chance at a first impression!"

Amen, Amen and Amen! No is a very useful and helpful word, I never leave home without it! I don't let my 2 out of the house if they aren't "dressed" as in decent. Even going to the store you don't need to look like you crawled through the rag bag. My daughter is more of a fight than my son, but they do know how to dress nicely. It's a pleasure to see young people who respect themselves enough to dress appropriately.
I remember seeing a little girl of about 6 in church, her mother dressed her more like a teenager! It was disgusting and depressing. Stupidity is rampant in our society, I'm getting very tired of it!

Good morning and G*D bless all!

thanks jeff and tmw - i know i'm doing something right when my kids will say, "WHAT IS WITH kids these days?"

i believe in timeless clothing and you cannot go wrong with levi's or wranglers for the boys. our son loves conservative slam tees and our daugter dresses in fashionable jeans and some designer tees that must be at least three inches over the waistline. and she's built like a small brickhouse.

just so you know, she's the one who complains about not having the designer phone! or lack of one!

nanc said...

what i meant to say is she has a phone - it's just not cool enough! and to think i had to hunt a phone booth down at her age and hope i had a dime left to call home.

Egads! Do I know what you're saying! My daughter wants a "sliver", told if she did she could just get herselfa job and buy it herself! She also wants me to get a "razor", I'm good! I'm also not cool, oh well, even as a teen I wasn't and I really don't care!
I read your post about your associate pastor, will put him on prayer list at church! I couldn't reply at Jacob's post, my computer doesn't even "see" word verification! Very frustrating as many have great posts I want to comment on!

most of the broken eggs out there shouldn't have kids. look at the kids - you see immediately who is running their show and it ain't the parents. no pride, no shame. we're losing the ability to even blush anymore.

and then we wonder why our sons are being molested by teachers and our daughters are being ripped from our lives walking home from school - what could be more alluring to a pedophile than a baby trying to be an adult?

I pray for the sake of this nation, we have a few more parents with as much sense as you.

I have already began my Journey into fatherhood, a few years before my first child is born. Just so I can see this kind of crap before it becomes an issue.
I wish parent were more responsible than this.
Sadly I know they aren't. Along with parents getting high and drunk with these kids, they are dressing them in trash and think it's cute.
My parents would not let me get a GNR t-shirt because it had skulls on a cross on it.
Of course I though they were being unfair, but still I did not throw a fit. They did try to guide me as much as possible.

Clothing could have me ranting for hours and hours. But I won't.
Thank Nanc for getting me all worked up.

Florian- It shows how far we have fallen in this country! mohammadins have one thing right about America, we are exporting immorality to the world! I know we aren't all tarred with the same brush, but Whorellywood doesn't have any sense of decency. The few decent movies are made inspite of thier ethos. As for c-rap, it's an abomination. Jacob- I was told by a lady I worked with at the children's shelter that when she was working in the jail system, droopy jeans were a sign that the wearer was a b***h and "looking" for some "action". Needless to say every boy in the shelter wore a belt and we checked! Some had been sexually abused and we wanted to avoid thier attracting the wrong kind of attention! I have had a cow or 2 when my daughter wanted my son to be "cool", I explained why it wasn't happening and find another acceptable cool look! Living beachside has it's own challenges, during the summer most girls wander around in bikinis maybe with tiny shorts! I'm surprised there aren't more accidents!

I meant to post a comment here earlier, but when I saw the news about Crusader, I had to visit his site. Florian is right--prayers, lots of prayers.

I missed the Fox report on Pimpfant, and I'm glad that I did. Good grief! What's next to undermine this nation's morality?

Slut dressing for mothers, Pimpfant for kids. Next will be the clothing line "Whore of Babylon" for teen girls and "Drug Pusher" for teen boys. Gag!

When I was principal, I actually had to instruct the new female teachers in the art of NOT dressing like a slut. And that was at a Christian school!!! The year: 1996.

Proverbs says "Train up a child in the way he should go..." So what are these Pimpfant parents teaching their children?

About IW's site...I can click on his name in one of his comments to my blog, but when I go to his profile, there is no web site listed. What's going on? Has anybody seen him around making comments at others' blogs? I haven't, but I've been busy nursing my aching back and "funny feeling" left foot.

Perhaps I'm of a different mind, but I think the key to defeating Islam lies within Britney Spears' exposed ass crack.

elmers brother said...

nanc I am sure you know this already Prov. 22:6

my understanding of that scripture is that the translation would be

"train a child according to his bent" or

"as according to what is expected" or

as Matthew Henry put it "according to what he is capable"

I've heard a lot of believers try to use this as some kind of spiritual guarantee but we know from experience this isn't true. It's more a hope.

elmers brother said...

Is not IW and AC one in the same?

John said...

What do you expect?

Remember Clinton's triangulation to the right in his empty promotion of School uniforms?

Of course it was empty. The guy couldn't keep his pants on in the Oval Office.

His "just a b*****b" affair was with a young woman of his daughter's generation, who, when he took office in 1993, was one of "The Children."

Clinton's Surgeon General's (Jocelyn Elders) sage medical prescription to society was: "Let The Children Masturbate."

In the wake of Clintonism, there has been an epidemic of pre-high and even pre-junior high school oral and anal sex (because "that's not sex").

Abercrombie & Finch were peddling soft-child porn to adolescents in their clothing catalogues not too long ago.

Now the wanna-be fashion czar from Oregon decides highly-impressionable infant's are fair game to be sexually proselytized.

The former King of Pop is a pedophile.

Female teachers are seducing their underage students.

Sexual predators--and murderers-- are targeting little girls.

Of course, all of them are the kids who were fortunate enough not to have been aborted.

I'm not blaming liberalism for all of that, or mean to imply that, at it's core, it necessarily devours and destroys children.

After all, liberals know they need fresh blood to keep the cause alive for future generations.

Doesn't a viable "Village" need to be populated by "The Children" (whose names--I really hope--aren't Hansel and Gretel)?

But of course, I'm just an uptight, Puritanical Christo-fascist prude. :)

Kelly said...

Nanc,

The name says it all. It reflects the additude of the parents. What do they want for their kids? They might as well be playing with dolls. Ya, they could dress them up however they want. But a kid is a human being.

So, they start dressing them like that at a young age when it might appear to be "cute", but where do they draw the line. Would they allow their teenager to wear "Pimp" across their chest? If so, they would be contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Neglect! I say, Neglect!

nanc said...

welcome kelly - we teach others how to treat us. consequently that goes for our children also. the message we send them gets sent directly back to us - rebellion? perhaps.

i don't know everything there is to being a child or being a parent for that matter, but i do know from my own upbringing, swore at an early age to NEVER be like my parents - so far, so good.

we go one way or the other. my prayers are that my children go the way of their parents. guess we won't really know until all is said and done, as e.b. so much as pointed out.

thanks for coming by kelly - and be sure to come back again. we also have some great links - and i'm not talking sausage!

bensittin-I agree with Nanc, for my child's sake I would have held on like gorilla glue! But unfortunately, some people are so blind and they have turned off thier minds. The results are catastrophic, guess who pays the price? The rest of society! That should give the responsible types some say in the ethics of raising children! Tyrannical and draconian, maybe we should liscense childrearing. Usually I like to stay out of other peoples business, but when the disasterous results spill over into my and my childrens lives and we pay the cost it becomes my business! Wonder if we can sue parents for gross neglegence and recover some of the costs. It might cause some people to rethink, or think in the first place! Still wonder if that idiot married the mother of his son?

where i live, materialism is life. while roaming around one day i heard a girl refer to her jacket as a north face. i was livid. a jacket is a jacket. this is why i can't wait to get to college and be with normal people. most of us will be dirt poor thanks to increasing tuition rates and property taxes.

being in the age bracket [or around there] i will talk about myself briefly.

i describe myself as normal. i will admit i am materialistic, but when i think about it, it really only comes down to certain music equipment. i also choose to be different. in the winter, i wear a flannel jacket [unheard of over here]. currently i am growing a beard [for playoff reasons] which is pissing off a lot of people, except one.

Clothing has never been an issue for me. My wife is the same way.

When I was in school there was a dress code. I doubt that I would of had more than one shirt with buttons if it wasn't for the dress code.

Jeans and a pocket T, Levi jacket, field jacket or Navy P coat when it was cold. Barefoot or tennis shoes, boots in the winter. Flannel shirts, lots of flannel shirts! :^)

I didn't have any sisters so I don't know how that would have worked out. (With three rough-neck brothers, I suspect it would have been hell on earth for any prospective boyfriend.)

This sexualization of children worries me! Our society is deteriorating more each year.

I really don't understand the penchant that people have for following stupid fads and fashion. As TMW said; No, is a powerful word,

It has power when we say, "No", to the morally indefensible and those who "be" of this world or when we correct our children.

Nanc- Yes, my baby is 15 1/2, but the "dates" involve going to youth group with the young man in question. Or to the beach with her brother, to the mall or hanging out with the families. It is really strange, but it is more a courtship situation with lots of family time! I have read about courtship being a more G*Dly model, so I have more comfort with what's going on. of course i'm not saying every woman shouldn't have 25 pair of black shoes...i love shoes...

i believe simplicity is best with adults. babies, however, have no choice in how their parents dress them and some parents show no sense whatsoever.

about the most radical i got with my kids clothing was "baby bum equipment" because of the simple colors, durability and quality. they both wore these clothes for two to three years and they're still like brand new in their treasure chests. i liked adult "bum" clothing also. now, i would rethink that decision.

i have dress clothing AND shoes that i've been wearing occasionally for 25 years. and i get most of my casual wear at tag sales and secondhand stores. my family thinks i'm nuts. ten years ago i'd never even thought of wearing somebody else's clothing!

Nanc,
About the need for teachers to have a dress code...

My last year working in the traditional classroom was 1996-1997. And I was truly surprised that I had to speak to a teacher as to how to dress because teachers, no matter where they work, should know better than to slut-dress.

But I've heard that how to dress professionally is now part of teacher-training and in-service meetings (for teachers already in the system). What seems to me to be common sense now needs special instruction? I attribute this slide to the moral relativism which has pervaded our society and to the influence of the entertainment industry. Pimpfant is another manifestation of the same.

Certainly when I was in school, we all knew what was acceptable wear and what was not.

Warren,
Yes, the sexualization of children is being marketed, and for younger and younger ages.

We've had to establish a dress code for our homeschool groups, and that code had to be extended to the upper-elementary students, who were showing up to a church in slut-dress, and with the approval of their mothers. Reality check needed for those mothers!

nanc said...

not so surprising aow - i've had to ask young ladies at church to "please pull your shirt down below your pantline because you've got skin showing." i fail to add, "and it looks ugly!" oh, i'm thinking it...

I was at Signal94's blog(ex-leo in up state NY) He posted on a couple arrested for the rape of thier 1 day old daughter! I'm sorry but that is flat out demonic! This is what we are slidding into! No natural affection, even for our own children! I bet the pedophiles love the sexualization of our children! Don't have to visit those illegal child porn sites! Steam coming out of ears!
No wonder we're under judgement!
Sorry, but this sort of thing is so sick. You're lucky living on a mountain, sometimes I get very ticked off by my fellow humans and thier idiotic naivity!

The thing is, people in my school do wear in fact slutty clothes. It's what they've been waring since the younger age so they're used to be seen in low tops and mid-drifts, and skirts that have there butt practically showing. Its the same waywith guys were pants so low that their boxers show. No matter what I say, that's just todays fashion statement. And I HATE IT! Have some dignity people!

Although, I don't dress formally every day ...

Just because you can reproduce doesn't mean you should be a parent.

Children's & young teen clothing on the whole is on a trashy bent. You have to shop carefully and learn to say NO if your child wants to wear what many other kids are wearing.

Anonymous said...

Hoorah for those who have a sense of dignity and modesty! I have seen too many girls who are either anorexic or overweight wearing the same sizes! It's pathetic! You wonder why the parents have abdicated thier responsibilities. The '60s have been the bane of America, it just keeps getting worse! The people who have a sense of self worth are refreshing.

Modesty is, and will always be, a virtue. Whether its in our our physical beings or personalities.

There are far too many exibitionists and braggarts in the world.

The person that bears their butt to the world, dares you to look. The person that begins every sentence with, "I", is just as bad in a different way. They both want your attention and mistake attention for admiration.

I find both unseemly if not repulsive.

"I" was pulling your toes Warren! Gotcha! I can be a terrible tease(pesky little sister, remember?) I really do enjoy the community, and we seem to be attracting(mostly) the right kind of neighbors. Every neighborhood has one or two that are a little...yeah. Kind of like the Fla. man who has been to jail twice for not getting rid of his protest "art" from his yard. He did it to irritate the neighbors he didn't like! Attracted rats and code enforcement, he got it cleaned up, then when he thought the heat was off, he started collecting junk again to make more "art"! Judge threw him in jail!

That or scaring away the tax collectors! Now a good roast of beef, with scratch Yorkshire pudding(I know, but even those d**n Southerns(English) have a good idea), scratch gravy and mashed potatos. EB- Poverty!
Nanc- Look who's talking!
EB- When Scotland went to mostly absentee landowners, they didn't know thier clans folk so they threw them off of clan lands to make way for sheep! This threw already marginal people over the edge to abject poverty. If they got anything it was usually the leftovers from butchering which included offal. When your starving, sheep innards will provide some protein and minerals! When you look at what goes into a haggis you understand where they were financially. When your national dish is a sheep stomach stuffed with chopped lungs and oatmeal and not much else, well that sounds poor to me. Why do you think so many Scots fled to America, the English and thier Scottish allies really beat the natives down into the mud, they have never recovered! The Scots in America have done better, but what the English did is the attempted blotting out of national identity and they have nearly succeeded!

I absolutely agree that it's inappropriate to put children in adults' clothing - particularly (in this case) trash.

Thanks for the posting.

Anonymous said...

How come you didn't include this part of your definition from Answers.com. It's towards the bottom of the page.

Etymology and other uses of the term Pimp

The verb "to pimp" has acquired a meaning not related to prostitution: to promote, to advertise or to push, as in "ESPN has really been pimping T.O. a lot lately." It may also mean "to make attractive/fancy" as popularized on the American TV series Pimp My Ride. Cars that have been poorly maintained are made "pimp" through repair and refurbishment, often with thousands of dollars worth of extravagant equipment.
answers.com

Also when I went to the Pimpfants website I didn't see adult clothes for kids. I don't know many adults wearing onesies. I think there is just a few controversial slogans in some of the graphics and an edgy name but the clothes themselves seem decent. It also looks like it's for babies whos clothes styles are mainly for the parents anyway. Most of the stuff seems humorous on a baby but would be inappropriate on an older child. I really don't think people buying this are labeling their kids or leading them down a negative path. It's just humorous. If you recognize the definition I stated above then it's nothing more than style-fants or Jr. Style Squad. I do however, understand peoples concerns if they are unaware of the slang definition of the word pimp. If this clothing really did have anything to do with pimps and ho's It would definately P me off.
