Warren,
Aha! You've posted!

Back when I was stupid, I watched Donahue's show. I didn't believe the liberalism and leftism, but I watched the show. Looking back, all those hours were a consummate waste of time.

Speedy, do you think Donohue ever realized how shallow he looked?

AOW, Donohue used to piss me off every time he opened his mouth and spouted some self-serving/self-righteous nonsense.

I couldn't help thinking that anyone who agreed with him lost IQ points every time they watched his show.

Please. Donahue's audience was mostly bored housewives. Tooter the Turtle would look "deep" to most of them. Come to think of it, so would anyone who's half awake and willing to listen to them....

*runs for the hills before AoW returns*

Speedy,
I hardly qualified as a bored housewife. For the one year that I didn't teach in a classroom, I was home and tuned in Donahue's show. The reason? Well, as a high-school girl I had been a regular watcher of Marlo Thomas's series That Girl.

Even as young and foolish as I was at the time, Donahue's getting up on his moral high horse caused me to hit the off button.

I admit to getting a kick out of those few audience members (groupies?) who challenged him.

For a lot of reasons, Donahue appealed to those who went to college during the 1960s.

Hmmm, come to think of it, a college education is precisely the problem exhibitted by most Donohue Democrats. They think that just because they went to college, they've been "educated" and now "know things" (and are comepetent to speak about them).
