"oh boo" moment #1627.3

ever need some levity in your life?

here awhile back - no wait - it was last night, while in the midst of a hot game of "trivial pursuit", and as usual i was tuned to the evening news - there was a segment on the "peta" people and their latest "take your clothes off for animals in order to slam the president" campaign - of course they were covering the little lady's hangers with stars or something and nancpop asked nancson, "have you noticed just how ugly the women on the left are?"

nancson pondered this question for a moment or four and laughingly blurted out, "oh, come on, pop - what about that little sex kitten - JANET RENO?!?"
...he'll soon be going for a visual check-up and if that doesn't work, the surgical eye removal plan may be in the works...

Sophocles, "Oedipus, The King"

CHORUS - Alas, poor queen! how came she by her death?

SECOND MESSENGER - By her own hand. And all the horror of it,
Not having seen, yet cannot comprehend.
Nathless, as far as my poor memory serves,
I will relate the unhappy lady's woe.
When in her frenzy she had passed inside
The vestibule, she hurried straight to win
The bridal-chamber, clutching at her hair
With both her hands, and, once within the room,
She shut the doors behind her with a crash.
"Laius," she cried, and called her husband dead
Long, long ago; her thought was of that child
By him begot, the son by whom the sire
Was murdered and the mother left to breed
With her own seed, a monstrous progeny.
Then she bewailed the marriage bed whereon
Poor wretch, she had conceived a double brood,
Husband by husband, children by her child.
What happened after that I cannot tell,
Nor how the end befell, for with a shriek
Burst on us Oedipus; all eyes were fixed
On Oedipus, as up and down he strode,
Nor could we mark her agony to the end.
For stalking to and fro "A sword!" he cried,
"Where is the wife, no wife, the teeming womb
That bore a double harvest, me and mine?"
And in his frenzy some supernal power
(No mortal, surely, none of us who watched him)
Guided his footsteps; with a terrible shriek,
As though one beckoned him, he crashed against
The folding doors, and from their staples forced
The wrenched bolts and hurled himself within.
Then we beheld the woman hanging there,
A running noose entwined about her neck.
But when he saw her, with a maddened roar
He loosed the cord; and when her wretched corpse
Lay stretched on earth, what followed—O 'twas dread!
He tore the golden brooches that upheld
Her queenly robes, upraised them high and smote
Full on his eye-balls, uttering words like these:
"No more shall ye behold such sights of woe,
Deeds I have suffered and myself have wrought;
Henceforward quenched in darkness shall ye see
Those ye should ne'er have seen; now blind to those
Whom, when I saw, I vainly yearned to know."
Such was the burden of his moan, whereto,
Not once but oft, he struck with his hand uplift
His eyes, and at each stroke the ensanguined orbs
Bedewed his beard, not oozing drop by drop,
But one black gory downpour, thick as hail.
Such evils, issuing from the double source,
Have whelmed them both, confounding man and wife.
Till now the storied fortune of this house
Was fortunate indeed; but from this day
Woe, lamentation, ruin, death, disgrace,
All ills that can be named, all, all are theirs.

...and that's what I would have to do if I ever saw Janet Reno, or one of the other "frail flowers of the Left" naked...

nanc said...

ever notice how pasty and sallow peta people look?

I may hurl...

Farmer,
I won't react in that extreme fashion, but watching the evening news may become too much of a travail.

They had better not appear naked. Lord!

tazzmax said...

Nanc, you missed one,....that beauty queen, Madam Half-bright!

nanc said...

dang your hide, tazz! you're right, but you know there's only so much a person can take?

janet reno is the butt of so many jokes at our house...

Janet Reno always makes me hot!

Oh Baby!

O.T., Nanc, I caught you over at ABP,......I put in a good word for you.

ROTFALMAO! "That little sex kitten, Janet Reno!" That's just too funny!

It's true. In fact most of the people on the left look weird, the men included. Pelosi is always bug-eyed, Hillary usually looks like she's constipated, with a couple of screws in his neck Kerry looks like Herman Munster. I could go on, but you get my drift, I'm sure. I don't even want to start to describe Ted Kennedy! Yuck!

nanc said...

i can tell by the look in her eye, rob...

thanks tazz - i always forget my password there so have rarely commented until last night.

mostly - there's someone there from mbc i want to drag out of retirement...

gayle - i struggled to find a decent photo of a female lefty! i've heard men say, "women on the right are hot!" hey, who am i to argue?!?

Frigid women who couldn't please a man even if they wanted to--that's why they hate men. Nice pics btw Nanc. Janet Reno always gave me a strange fantasy of having chest hair beneath all that clout she has. I'm still convinced Hillary is a man. You forgot to include Madame Secretary in the list.

nanc said...

i know - tazz already got me on that one, but she's old so we should allow a measure of respect for the elderly?

like nancpop's grandpa used to say, "grandson - it's not people's fault they're ugly - they just shouldn't go out in public!"

nanc said...

p.s. - i stole the photos (ala farmer) so don't be surprised if they just disappear...

FJ had a post on this the other day, before it was burned.

Leftism does not attract intelligent or attractive people. It is the domain of the stupid and the ugly. Always has been.

My sister used to replact 'g*% d*&^ it' with *Janet Reno!!!*

She would say, "Janet...Janet Reno!" whenever she got mad.

Let us not forget the fair countenance of... Helen Thomas!

I know she's about 86, but... GAG!

The Merry Widow said...

You know, there are bitter old people and saintly old people. The saintly ones do have a more "comely countenance", could it be the spirit within?

tmw

nanc said...

i've noticed the light shining around them, tmw - yes!

brooke - how could i have forgotten old helen?

Always On Watch said...

Helen Thomas is perfect for the role of the Wicked Witch of the West in the The Wizard of Oz--both her looks and her personality.

nanc said...

i love the helen thomas/tony snow moments - if one could only purchase a dvd of them...oh, fox news could make a fortune off these...

Anonymous said...

Children should be seen not heard,
Old people should be heard not seen.
-grace slick

nanc- funny.

Always On Watch said...

Maybe a video of Snow-Thomas moments will, one day, appear at YouTube.

nanc said...

of course, scott mcclellan AND ari fleischer had some good rounds with her also...dang - there's some good stuff!

that dvd and a capital one guys dvd would be the best in entertainment.

I think I would have picked someone other than Janet Reno to be the first woman Attorney General in US history. Now she she spends her time on working to free suspected terrorist from US detention.
Last thing that Hillary needs is to be wearing a witch hat.

Nanc,

Think Janet looks bad now? Imagine her before she had her fur removed!

Anonymous said...

Helen Thomas looks exactly like Uncle Fester in drag.

nanc said...

jay - BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA! i picture her as a type of chewbacca now!

steve - now you're slighting uncle fester...

The Merry Widow said...

I liked her better as Chewbacca's sister...
