Many Thanks

As most of you know its been a trying week for me.

I've been shot at when I was unarmed, had a straight razor held against my throat and had my life threatened by a mob that couldn't quite work up enough nerve to do anything as long as I was armed with a pocket knife.

But I've never felt as scared or helpless as when my wife looked me in the eyes and the only thing she could say was "please help me".

The Verdict is still out on whether it was a stroke or a reaction to an anti-nausea drug but they are leaning toward a drug reaction. That's fine with me, it will be a lot easier to make sure she never has another dose of that medication that to go through some form of surgery or therapy for an organic problem.

We are home and she seems back to normal.

I wish to thank you all for your well wishes, prayers and support.

Warren

Been there, done that--when my husband had brain surgery. But what I went through wasn't nearly as scary because I knew why he was acting the way he was. I also knew from the docs that the confusion would pass.

Thank God that everything is okay now! You can get some rest, I hope.

Continuing to pray for you and yours, of course.

Take the time you need to unwind as well. Even if it is only for an hour you probably need some R&R.

I must admit, I liked having nanc as supreme ruler of "THE COMMUNITY". She added a certain brutal discipline that lax members who think they can say and do whatever they want without permission from the "COMMUNITY" badly needed.

How right he is! Having filled the shoes of caregiver, I know how easy it is to neglect oneself.

wow. I am sorry I hardly checked and did not know of this, warren. Please pass along my regards and I hope your wife gets better.

Relacore is an over the counter drug for weight loss. If my wife never recovered from her malay with that crap, I would have been suing the makers of this very dangerous drug. You can still find it in Wal-Mart.

DO NOT BUY THIS DRUG.

What kind of a heartless, self-centered jerk uses this post of fear of lossing ones loved one to promote his mediocre, boring blog?

Why it\'s a mad zionist?

just one of my favorite jerks, anon - go do your complaining elsewhere. you do not make the rules here.

kaye - you for real?

Oh my goodness. I've never heard of a 'nausea medication' causing stoke like symptoms. What have the doctors told you to do now that you have her home? I would like a little more information if I were you both. (Hubby is a doctor, so I could ask him what he thinks if you want.)

Best wishes, prayers, and all good things sent your way.

I already have posted my well wishes to Warren and family and wished the Mrs a speedy recovery. My, my...there certainly are some touchy types within "DER COMMUNITY".

madze - i'll bet vermin everywhere are thankful for this! i thought that may be the case - that happened to me recently between rob's and tmw's, so i know how that could happen...of course, i looked like an idiot, which is nothing new for me!

Nanc,
Kaye is the username of an artist that lives in OZ.

Tubbs, who is a long haired Chihuahua and has his own blog, is her companion. Being only a small pup, Tubbs frequently uses his companions username and password.

I mean, you can only expect so much from such a small dog. My Chihuahua, (Spike), has a vocabulary of barely 300 words and he doesn't type at all!

Tubbs, its "Coast" soap. Its a perfumed deodorant bath soap or body wash that is somewhat astringent but very clean smelling. I don't know if its sold outside the States.

Debbie,
Many medications have side effects that aren't very common.

This is a very common drug and I don't want anyone to get scared and quit using it just because of what happened to my wife.

The generic name is phenergan, also called, promethazine.

"SIDE EFFECTS

Injection:

CNS Effects (central nervous system)

Drowsiness is the most prominent CNS effect of this drug. Extrapyramidal reactions may occur with high doses; this is almost always responsive to a reduction in dosage. Other reported reactions include dizziness, lassitude, tinnitus, incoordination, fatigue, blurred vision, euphoria, diplopia, nervousness, insomnia, tremors, convulsive seizures, oculogyric crises, excitation, catatonic-like states, and hysteria.
"

Basically, all you can do is make sure that you don't take the drug again. I'll make sure that its noted in her medical records and history.

The Radiologist said that from two shadowy areas, in her CAT-scan, that it appeared that she had a stroke and the GP agreed with that assessment. When the Neurologist was called in, he said that from all the other tests, it looked to him, like the Radiologist "over-read" the CAT-scan.

She had all kinds of blood work, an MRI, MRA, Sonograms of different organs, including her heart and the arteries in her neck.

Warren: I realize you must be mad at me for the mess that happened, but I wanted you to know that I just hope everything will be Okay and that your wife will recooperate to where both of you are neither scared nor have any reason to be scared of what might happen.

nanc said...

that is so kind of you, greg - i'm sure warren has no hard feelings toward most people...well, except for plucky and we're not sure he qualifies for peoplehood...

Eitan Ha'ahzari said...

nanc: thank you! I hope Warren isn't too angry with me, though I wouldn't blame him if he was.

nanc said...

you will have to take that up with warren as i don't speak for him. he is ruled by his own way, not mine or anyone else's.

nanc said...

one more thing, greg - just a friendly warning - please - no matter how pist you are at a fellow blogger, you must NEVER drop their real name here - ever. there is only one exception to this rule:

if matthew mcconaughey is wanting to get ahold of me - all bets are off!
