A few thoughts

The other day, my wife was watching TV. I don't know what was on or on which channel, I don't really watch television. But I happened to notice aging Bruce Springsteen and Steven Van Zandt, a member of his band, doing an interview.

They were acting childish and looking their age.

The anti-establishment, establishment.

Grown men that never grew up. Mental midgets that believed their success as entertainers gave them intelligence and wisdom.

Fraid not!

Talk about washed up!
They can't even claim to being anti-establishment anymore, not after their fawning displays of man love toward "The One ®".

I caught part of that interview and couldn't stay tuned for long.

Now, I like some of Springsteen's music. But I find it increasingly difficult to watch him perform. In fact, I could barely stay tuned to watch the Half Time Show for Sunday's Super Bowl.

He's also taken to dressing in black. At first, this new wardrobe was a tribute to Johnny Cash, right after Cash passed away.

Now it looks as if Springsteen is trying to channel Johnny Cash. Unsuccessfully, I might add.

The Boss has, in many ways, become a caricature of what he used to be.

I have a particular aversion to 50-something guys who keep adding more earrings to their lobes -- just one of my little quirks.

Rebellion may be cute in a twenty-something year old man, but if he's still spouting it at fifty, then he obviously never made anything out of his life and should be scorned as a true ne'r do well.

I put in a load of laundry during the halftime show.

Looks like I didn't miss much.

AOW,
That disgusting "soul patch" under his lip, looks like he forgot to wash his face.

Farmer,
"Ne'r do well", certainly fills the bill.

EB,
I listened to Laura Ingrham today. I was amused that she decided to unload on "The Boss".

I believe her first book was titled " Shut Up and Sing"

;^)

Brook,
Its a shame you missed. Laura Ingrham said that she wanted to call Springsteen and see if he hurt himself jumping around the stage.
