The tyrant of Baghdad is dead and the far left uses this opportunity to, once more, show us their Bush derangement syndrome in its full flower. The DU, Huffington Post and Daily Kos are virtual cess pits bemoaning the death of the poor misunderstood Saddam. Their moonbat editorialists and commenters crying for GWB, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney to suffer similar fates.
If nothing else, their paranoiac cult's behavior, deepens my belief that these traitors represent a greater danger to our country than all of the terrorists combined.
Relatively few will mourn the execution of Saddam. Undoubtedly our Moonbats will represent the largest percentage.
Justice should be served even if justice is unobtainable. In order for Saddams crimes to be balanced on those scales, hundreds of thousands of Saddams would be needed. They would be shot, maimed, have their tongues cut out, torchered to death, fed into shredders feet first, gassed, raped, ad nausem.
Since there was only one Saddam, the Iraqis tried him, sentenced him and hung him. They were even humane, instead of the short drop and strangulation that is the norm for the Middle East, and can last up to a half hour as the executed fights for breath and dances on the end of a rope, they opted for the high drop with a proper noose and knot and a broken neck.
It may not be true or total justice but justice was served.

I sometimes wonder who we're fighting also Sir Warren.
Excellent way to start the New Year Warren, with a bull\'s-eye!
The God\'s truth of the matter is; the left in the entire world was more outraged by the actions of a very few people, for a very brief time at 1:30 AM, in one obscure cell block of Abu Ghraib, then the million and half people that were murdered, made to disappear, and tortured by Saddam.
I would love to see some capable person add up all the reports about Abu Ghraib, and then compare that number to all the reports concerning Saddam\'s evil. I\'ll bet big money it was hundreds to one in favor of Abu Ghraib
Happy New Year to all! It\'s a better year then 2006 already, since Saddam is no longer sucking up some of the Earth\'s air.

Absolutely incredible!
Just as incredible, on a personal level...The day after Saddam was executed, an acquaintance of mine--not a lefty by any means--phoned me to bemoan the execution. She actually said, "That could have been my son on the gallows." Hardly! Her son has been in some trouble, but he's not a tyrant who committed genocide and financed terrorism.
She went on blabbing about Saddam's "sad childhood," probably because she truly did have a terrible childhood having been sexually molested by her stepfather, her father, and Lord-only-knows who else.
She probably won't call me again because I gave her an earful.
Justice in this world is imperfect, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't reach for that ideal. For once, we saw a dictator brought to justice. I'm sick and tired of whiners who bemoan every step made toward the ideal of justice.
Sheesh, AOW, can you believe some people? I'm sorry for her that she was molested. Still, if she wants to make ridiculous comparisons, it could've also been her son in a mass grave over there.
Good riddance to Saddam.
i've gone to d.u. and huff's ONCE - and still don't feel as though i've gotten all the grime off...all the bleach in the world...eeeeeeeeek!
where do they think he should have been tried? the ninth circuit?
very insightful article, warren.
Brooke,
I have her some information about certain sexual practices in Islam. I just may have burst her why-can't-we-all-get-along bubble.
Uh, have = gave.
Hell is such an awful place, that I have trouble thinking about people spending their eternity there...but Saddam is not one of them. Good riddance, and what a suprise he got when he took his last breath and met hell instead of Allah...
I'm not so sure that hell and Allah are mutually exclusive.
I plagiarized your theme today... I guess I owe you a hat-tip.
No probs FJ, any time!
;^)
Kuhnkat, it was a big let down for most of us.
I know those leftards are all upset that Saddam didn't get a prison sentance. That way Saddams followers and their allies could kidnap Americans and Iraqis demanding his release. Then slaughter their victims when he wasn't released.
Leftists always cry foul when one of their own gets the rope.
The Hajj was quiet this year too. Not the usual stampede.
Yesterday, Brigitte Gabriel was interviewed on FNC. She explained how hanging is a great dishonor in Islam.
Maybe the leftards would have been less whiny had Saddam faced the firing squad, as he requested? Nah.
...the rope was perfect. Blood-less.
Saddam received far more fair treatment than he ever meted out to his people.
The folks on the left are emotion driven, not logic driven. That's why they shouldn't be running anything bigger than a lemonade stand on the front lawn.
you give them far too much credit, cube...far too much...
"If nothing else, their paranoiac cult's behavior, deepens my belief that these traitors represent a greater danger to our country than all of the terrorists combined."
And the people said...?
...pain hurts. Now when do I get my check.
If kids had to vote for who served the better food, candymakers or baker's, the candymen would win, hands down!
My son and I nearly fell over laughing at the cell phone video of Saddam's hanging because it looked like the executioner pulled the handle right in the middle of when Saddam was talking. I think that was great timing; Saddam looked like he never even got the chance of a last breath. I bet his neck snapped right away.
"However, it would have been a good idea to conduct the execution with more dignity or at least not broadcast the trash talk. That's the point being made."
Nope. I found the dank stairwell environment excellent and although I am not sure it looks like they shook his hairy ugly ass out of his bunk and dragged him out there. This is what he needed - to hell with dignity. This guy was a monster.
plucky? i suppose you think it's alright to air footage of the likes of daniel pearl's murder? and heaven forbid anyone bemoan that! i can somehow envision you in tiennemen square doing your "vermin on the mount" spiel...
Duhkkky there were fewer soldiers killed and wounded in 2006 than in 2005. Eat *hit and die you know you don't care about the soldiers.

COUGH, cough, cough, bullcrap, cough, cough.
i know it, warren - maddass insane deserved DIGNITY after all he was guilty of? to wtf is this world coming?
dragging him behind a humvee through the streets of baghdad until he was a bloody mess JUST this side of death and then throwing him to a bunch of hungry animals (like his sons did to scores) would really have been all the dignity he deserved. they were far to kind to him. G-d forgive me.
and pardon my unladylike language, but i'm getting so sick of idiotic unrighteous indignation.
What Nostradumbass, and his delusional brethen, fail to understand is; Saddam was a murdering tyrant, a thug, and didn't deserve the dignity that he did receive.
He should have been drug out into the public square in his underwear, thrown to the ground and his neck pinned by the executioners foot, and a bullet put into his head.
Then the dead body should have been drug through the streets and left for the dogs.
Mookie should be next!
Saddam Hussein was afforded too much dignity when his body was returned to his tribe, something the families of some 300,000 Iraqis never got out of Saddam's government.
Ducky,
Do you honestly think that Saddam Hussein used up the only noose the Iraqi government has?
You seem awfully afraid of a campaign that in nearly 4 years of fighting has only produced a 0.5% casualty rate for our forces.
If this is a "plank up your butt," what can I say? Date smaller men, Ducky.
"Old Testament fairy tales"
Now Ducky's a Catholic atheist?
I realize it is the goal of every leftist to leave no one impressed with their intellect, but damn, Ducky.
Overkill.
What was your first clue that Shia parties controlled the Iraqi government, Ducky?
Mine was the election results in December 2005.
LAy off the crack rocks that cause your leftism and you're probably find assimilating knowledge will come easier.
Baby steps, Ducky. Baby steps.

That's pretty good for a half wit!
Tell me, does your love for mass murderers come from your far left ideology or is another of your genetic quirks?
What I really want to know is if its pathological or a learned neurotic behavior and what exactly endears you to them. Is it envy of the almost godlike power of life and death they weld over the unfortunates that become their victims? Perhaps since you live vicariously through them, you feel threatened when they are called to account.
Don't feel threatened, Ducky, most likely you will hang by your own hand.
Did you ever get a bullet for that snake gun?

Good, aren't they.

i haven't read ALL your thoughts, YET, jack! i can only take them one at a time.
i did read the last entry on your son in iraq and it was exquisite and brought tears to my eyes.
Warren: excellent post. Your notion that theoretically, many more "Saddam" executions would be needed to do perfect justice in this case rings true! It's obviously an impossible arrangement but hey, if we rounded up all the terrorists in Iraq and executed them that would do.
I believe this is my first comment here, though certainly not first visit to your site. Hope you had a fun New Year and all the best!
