This is the Husqvarna m/07 military pistol (licensed Browning M1903 pistol). Originally chambered in the obsolete Browning 9mm a cartridge slightly less powerful than the common 9mm parabellum. It was manufactured in Sweden from 1917 until 1945.
A number of them were rechambered in the much less powerful .380 automatic round and imported into the US in the 1950s.
I carried one of these from the time I was 17 until 14 or so years ago when I sold it. (Parts and magazines were impossible to find). I used the proceeds of the sale to buy a Star model PD.
The Husqvarna was the most comfortable gun that I have ever carried.

This is the Star model PD .45 ACP. It was manufactured by Star Bonifacio Echeverria, in Spain from 1975 to 1983.
This pistol Started the trend by other manufacturers of compact 1911-style pistols. Its aluminum alloy frame made for a light weight and compact carry piece which was favored by those in need of a powerful self defense or back up gun.
Not a "safe" gun, by today's standards, I still have mine and keep it at home near my armchair.

The Ruger P90 .45 ACP pistol.
Mine, like the one pictured here, has a stainless steel upper an oversize trigger guard to permit safe function with a gloved hand, and the front of the trigger guard bow is recurved to accommodate the support-hand forefinger in a two-hand hold. The rear sight is dovetail drift-adjustable for windage; front and rear sights have white-dot inserts for high visibility, a de-cocking lever and transfer bar safety that allows me to carry it with a round chambered.
The Ruger is the gun I carry daily.

The Dan Wesson model 715, stainless Steel, possibly my favorite hand cannon.
Chambered in .357 magnum. With an 8" barrel, its really to large for concealed carry although from time to time, I have been known...
Whenever I make a trip to the range, Dan goes along. With my hottest hand loads, I like to see what I can do to a 100 yard target.
I have other pistols and access to many more but these are the only pistols that I've carried on a daily basis.

I increased the sidebar padding. It also has something to do with using Blogger's Image storage because I linked into a former post where I had used larger images and it was just fine.
That's what I get for not using my own image storage or writting my own html for the images!
I don't normally use Windows or IE so I couldn't see what was going on. I normally use a Linux based system and Firefox, (where everything looked fine), so I had to boot up a hard drive with Windows and IE and edit the template.
Now, if someone uses Firefox and a low resolution screen, the last few letters of text in the main post box run off the screen unless you bump the window over.
I can live with that,
I tried decreasing the image size first, but it didn't make any difference. I got in a hurry and forgot there was a CD in the burner when I shut Windows down. My reboot into Linux slowed to a crawl, (panic time!).
Then I saw the indicator light glowing on the burner and remembered I had a CD in it. (wipes forehead)

I use different holsters and rigs for different sized guns.
I used an inside the belt small of the back rig for the 07 and sometimes for the PD. A horizontal shoulder rig, very similar to THIS ONE, for the P90 and the rest of the time for the PD. The Dan requires a rather large Uncle Mikes vertical shoulder rig.
All padded ballistic nylon with reloaders or spare magazine on the off side. I don't care for leather rigs. A good one will cost a small fortune and the chemicals they use to cure the leather can corrode your gun and ammo.

Beautiful pieces Warren. I have an old Tabico .22 I got when my grandfather died. I love that old revolver.
I carry a Glock 22 in .40S&W for a duty weapon. Nice stopping power without all the overpenetration common in 9mm Parabellum.
The Glock 27 is a good choice for concealed purposes. I guess it really boils down to whatever you are most comfortable with.

I just never could get used to the way a Glock fits my hand. A lot of my friends carry them and without a doubt, they are one of the most reliable weapons on the market.

You're thinking of the common ,32 ACP round.
The design is the same but the original calibre of this pistol was a 9mm Browning. Only marginally less powerful than the 9mm in common usage today.
I'll admit that the .380, which it was rechambered for, is a marginal calibre at best but I horse traded it for little or nothing and I was 17 when I aquired it.
It served me well and kept me from a robbery once and an attack from someone known to be vicious, another. Once I snap shot the head of a copperhead while it was striking at my brother-in-law's leg.
It served its purpose very well.

I carry a .380, (9mm kurz) Sig Saur P 230 SL.
Studies have shown, with hollow point ammo, it has the stopping power of a .38 and it's truly easy to conceal.

we take a few tweens and teens in also - my husband cannot say no. our son has some pitiful friends who enjoy him because he likes to go hiking, camping, swimming, turning over rocks.
as for our son, he is no nonsense and not very facilitating - when his friends say "hey, let's go shoot some hoops or ride the bicycles." he replies, "you don't need me to be your social director - go for it!" they keep coming back, so it must be my husband and of course a teen girl in the house. when boys are over, it's time to poke some eyes out!
i honestly don't know why my son has friends. wonder where he got that attitude...?

I acquired my guns over the years, not a lot of money involved but a lot of trading around.
The Husqvarna was in a box, the clown that owned it took it apart and couldn't get it back together.
The PD cost me exactly what I got for the Husqvarna from a military collector.
I traded a wore out Chevy Impala for the P90.
The Dan Wesson was a gift from my wife, (I bought her a Ruger SP101 in .357 magnum.
Ruger certainly makes great weapons. A few years ago, for fathers day, my son bought me a Ruger M77 .22 with walnut stock. Simply beautiful!
Its a shame to shoot it, (but I force myself). ;^)

warren - you would not believe this if it weren't i telling you. a couple of years ago when my husband was working in mississippi, he went fishing and saw something shiny in the mud and being curious, george, went digging around and pulled out an 8.5mm mauser with the bayonet STILL attached to it!
he tried flagging down a cop - he was out in the middle of nowhere - and in the south, in case you don't know - if you DON'T wave they shoot you - anyway, to make a short story long, the cop didn't stop. my husband took it to his house, cleaned it up and it's in perfect condition and hanging on the wall on some deer horns.
who knows where it came from. perhaps you could give us some history on this type of gun.
Only wooden hangars, metal hangars leave a nasty after taste.

I'll check into the Mauser but I think you have the caliber wrong. It can be hard to read on some rifles.
The Mauser 98K was manufactured from 1898 through WW2 and used a 8X57mm cartridge. (actually it was 7.92X57mm but they called it 8).
When you get time, look through this list of pics and tell me if you see it.

Tazz- I have a Walther PPK that my Dad left me, he bought it from a German officer in Brasil in 1946. I used to put starlings in the compost heap with an air rifle, once got a crow out of a silk oak, it was so full of crows you couldn't miss! They all flew out of the tree, circled the house cawing for about 10 mins. After that they flew around our house and it was under the direct path they took twice a day to and from thier rookery! You could go outside and watch them swing wide then back on path!

My son is a bigger collector than I. He loves military type rifles and he has some beauts!
I'm going to do a post on rifles, probably some time tomorrow.
I have a old Stevens Junior that I won't fire anymore. Breech loader, chambered for .22 longs, (not long rifle), looks like the hex barrel only its a round barrel.
It was the first gun I ever fired. Also the first one I ever did any smith work on. I had to make a firing pin when the old one broke.
My son also has a rifle chambered for .50 BMG. It weighs about 40 lbs. I'm going to take a picture of it and post it along with some other interesting stuff.
I recently picked up a couple of Taurus revolvers at a "divorce sale". A 6" blue .357 mag and a 8" blue compensated .44 mag. I could sell the 44 for what I paid for both of them. The deal just fell in my lap! I couldn't believe it. I didn't even haggle with the guy and offered to pay him more.

I felt so sorry for him, his wife needed "space". She filed a restraining order against him, just for spite, then the next day called him up and asked him to come over and unclog the toilet!
He actually did it!
He told me that when he left she asked when he was going to come back and mow the lawn.
