What stuns me the past few weeks is how many of my more-or-less conservative friends favor nationalizing our oil industry. I guess that the prices at the pump and the corresponding hike in food prices have my friends flummoxed.

In socialist Germany they pay about $10 per gallon, same with socialist France and socialist Spain. I'm quite certain a socialist America would do just as well.
